Are you looking for an easier way to exchange protected health information (PHI)? The Florida Health Information Exchange’s free messaging service, Direct Secure Messaging (DSM) offers users an easy and efficient way to exchange PHI with providers, health plans, and state agencies. DSM is a secure, encrypted email service that allows users to safely exchange messages and structured or unstructured attachments up to 10 MB. Documents can be uploaded from your EHR system and sent to other providers and documents you receive can be uploaded to a pa-tient’s electronic medical record.

Registering for DSM is simple and free. The new group registration process makes it easy for your organization to obtain accounts for multiple individuals at one time. If you are interested in signing your organization up for DSM, please visit the Florida HIE website at www.florida-hie.net, or contact Agency for Healthcare Administration staff at (850) 412-3766.

Please join Florida HIE staff for a webinar that will provide additional information on the benefits of DSM and explains how to register for this free and valuable service. The dates and times for the upcoming webinars are listed on the below.
