It’s not too late to begin participating in the federal Medicare Incentive Program and receive the full incentive of $44,000 over a five year period! To receive the maximum incentive, eligible providers must begin participation no later than 2012. First-year requirements include meeting the Meaningful Use objectives over a 90-day reporting period. Beginning in the second year, and all subsequent years, the reporting period is the entire calendar year (January-December).
Please contact your Clinical Analyst who can give you in-depth information on the Meaningful Use objectives and can help you monitor your progress.
Your Clinical Analyst can also provide assistance in completing your application for the state Adopt, Implement or Upgrade (AIU) Medicaid incentive. A timely approved application can help you receive an incentive check for $21,250 per eligible provider in your first year of participation.
If you have already submitted your AIU application for 2011, the first year of participation, you can begin your 90-day Meaningful Use reporting dating back to January 1, 2012. It’s anticipated that Florida Medicaid will begin accepting applications for the 90-day Meaningful Use attestation (Year 2 of participation) in the summer of 2012.
Providers eligible for the Medicaid Incentive Program can receive up to $63,750 over a six year period. The Medicaid Incentive Program spans from 2011 – 2021 and providers must begin their participation by 2016!
